JEAN DOBBS

Jean, also known as “Mama Jean” in Tanzania, is the co-founder of ARF. She was approached by Maryvonne in 2004 to work closely with ARF. Initially, she was hesitant to join because she doubted the validity of the foundation. After a few months of uncertainty, she decided to visit Tanzania for herself. Since her first visit, she has been fully committed to the foundation. She raises funds and sheds light to the devastating reality that there are millions of people worldwide, particularly in Tanzania who lack water to the people of Albany, New York as well as across the United States. She does site visits twice a year to Tanzania and monitors funding. Before her retirement, Jean was the Director for Shelters for the Catholic Missions for many years.

ALINA PUNJANI

“Born in Toronto, Ontario, Alina has always been interested and involved in community service. From a young age, she has been exposed to many parts of the world and values the importance of helping and giving back to those in need. Currently a third year student at McGill University, she has been involved in many extra curricular activities that allow her to explore her interests beyond her studies as a Political Science, Economics, and International Development Studies major. As an executive writer for the McGill Student Business Review and a member of the McGill Pre-Law Society, she offers a unique insight focusing on the global business community and worked with the external affairs committee to reach out to sponsors and advertise Pre-Law events. Alina has been with African Reflections Foundation since 2016 as the Social Media Intern. Her willingness to go above and beyond to help and positive attitude makes her a great addition to the ARF team. She offers exceptional support and effective ideas to increase the range of our impact as a charity and raise awareness about our causes.”
