Maryvonne Pool is a woman with a big heart who is dedicated to serving those in need. She has been deeply touched by the sanitation issues that form due to the lack of clean drinking water in rural clinics and nearby schools where children do not have access to water.
The lack of water in clinics, especially when pregnant rural women are giving birth can be catastrophic. Because of this devastating issue, Maria has made it her goal to help rural communities by supporting them with clean drinking. Once drinking wells are built, she finds sponsors to build classrooms. This greatly impacts the quality of education students receive.
Throughout the years, she has learned to deal with every painful situation that comes her way. As the founder, Maria also ensures that all funds received are directly invested into the African Reflections Foundation projects. She is in every step of the process of her projects, making sure all projects are fully executed and handed over.
Mercy met Maryvonne many years ago when she was the Mkuranga District Commissioner. Since then, they have worked very closely to make sure all ARF projects in Mkuranga are sustained. After Mercy retired from her duty as Commissioner, she joined ARF. She manages ARF affairs alongside the other board members. Her vast experience as District Commissioner has made her well equipped to coordinate with local communities across Tanzania.
Farida has been the ARF’s accountant since its launch. She is responsible for controlling all ARF accounts and maintaining bank transactions. She verifies all the funds from donors are correctly allocated to each project. We are extremely thankful for the immense dedication she has shown to the foundation.
